Hi Neale;

Great summary article on what is available for OS X for bright field astronomy imaging and processing.

One comment on the Compression and Image Quality section though. With BTV Pro or other apps that allow you to specify what to use for compression when recording movies, your better off using Photo - JPEG at High (or Maximum) quality than DV, MP4, DIVX, Sorenson or Animation  as a compressed format and to use Component Video (YUV422) for uncompressed. Photo - JPEG at maximum is a loss less compression method and is not that CPU intensive to cause you to drop frames like Sorenson or MP4. DV is 6:1 compressed and throws a way a lot more color information too.
