The RAW use the same chips and will appear as if it's a monochrome camera - when in fact it's a color camera. What i need to do is set up special code for it in Astro IIDC 2.0 to handle it "differently" from the other Unibrain cameras.


So, what do you think are the odds that the fire-i on ebay is new enough to have the more

sensitive chip?  Or would you consider probably ending up paying 75 bucks to win that bid

too close to the price for a new board beastie?


There is no way of knowing whether it is or isn't. I'd guess that it's probably the more sensitive version - but I don't know for sure.


So you'd be saving say $30 to $50 on a roll of the dice.
