Milton,

Got your new version and I'm impressed on how efficient your code is.  The program has real time histogram and image displays and my laptop handles the workload with ease.

Thanks.

The key here is that it doesn't use QuickTime or Apple's Drivers for anything. It's all my own pThread / premeptive C and Altivec Code which is one reason I don't rely on Cocoa - just too much overhead. I also don't use XCode and my development environment is Code Warrior and I find XCode too slow for debugging even small projects on the Dual G5.

Now if the weather would only cooperate, I'll get a chance to try it out through the telescope.

Well I have had clear skies for 3+ days now (the last time I had clear skies was April 29th)- but the wind has been just freaking insane. It's been coming from the South East at a steady 25 to 40 km with gusts into the 60 to 80 km range - so trying to get the tracking code to work on a 10th story apartment balcony under these conditions has not been fun. And our clear skies are ending tonight and we get 4+ days of rain/showers/overcast again.

You should also try out the Stack and Align Movie… options too, which is probably the most automated methodology you'll ever use. On my G5 2.5 gighz dual, it runs at 30 to 100 frames per second for monochrome video alignment.

TTYL..
