Hi Willie;

It would only be a factor if you remove the plastic black mount that the original lens screwed in to. Then the CCD might be exposed to transient light.

However if you are concerned about it, unplug it from the Mac so it's unpowered, take a black felt marker and color over it with a few coats to darken it. If your good with a paint brush (just don't drip anything on the circuit board) , you can also paint over it too. I've used both methods.

On a side note I've been toying with the idea of talking to one of the local plastic manufacturers here in Calgary and seeing what it would cost to get an Astronomical type case (dark black opaque plastic with either 1.25" hole or maybe a M42 SLR screw mount) made up for the Unibrain cameras. I have all the technical drawings for the Unibrain board cameras here - but just have not had the time to see what it would cost to produce them or if it made economic sense.

I have used it three nights now and basicly just reminding myself how

slow of a learner I am.

Well Rome wasn't built in a day and you should see some of my early work (down at the bottom of the page) at

Took me about 1 year to figure out what I was doing wrong.

I got some better images, but not that good

yet.  I will post as soon as I get the chance.

Great - we can probably all help you figure out what it happening if we can see it. Also if your suffering from Air turbulence, then it really will be hard to get good images for anyone.
