Hi Willie;
A few things.
1) Did you select "Celestron NextStar" for the interface before using it or not?
2) It may not work with Celestron scopes that expect the Binary ASCII interface - but a GPS Celestron scope does use ASCII.
My guess is that the Celestron scope got a series of command it didn't understand and rather than ignoring them, it's microprocessor puked and would need to be manually re-set it.
Also, do you have access to the scope and time to try out some things during the day time? You don't need to look at at objects to test out the basic controls for moving the scope around.
TTYL..

Milton,
I tried it last night for the second time. Both times I didnt get
any response from the scope at all. Not only that, but after trying
with Astro IIDC, I couldnt get the scope to connect to either
Astroplanner or Equinox. I tested the connection to each before
trying Astro IIDC to make sure the cables, etc were good. I am using
a Nexstar 8GPS. Is that the problem? I know for Equinox &
Astroplanner, they have separate settings for the GPS version and the
previous version.
Each of these nights I tried restarting my laptop and still could not
get the scope to function with any software after the try with Astro
IIDC. The only thing that would re-establish communication was to
turn the scope off and then realign it and start over. I suspect
some command is getting sent to the scope from Astro IIDC that causes
it to hang. Just a guess though.
