Another thought I had about how the extended dragonfly camera might be useful for
telescope applications:
The PCB (in a case) could be mounted firmly to the telescope (near the focuser), and the
camera head mounted at the focuser (via an adapter in the usual way). Not so much because
of weight, but to minimize deflections from the firewire cable pulling on the camera (I bought
a 16' cable for my Aplux fire-i that was inexpensive, but is somewhat stiff).
And then, of course, there is the benefit of having the camera head separated from the heat-
producing electronics board.
But I wonder about the durability of that ribbon cable over time (moving the camera around
from scope to scope, putting it away, the like).
Still thinking out loud.
