When I ordered mine, they were estimating a 6 to 8 week shipping time

and it arrived in about 10 days. I have no idea why there is such a

discrepancy between the estimate and actual shipping.

So far, I don't know how 

long it's really going to take, but it probably has to do with

limited production runs and 

quality control (a good sign that it's not mass-produced).  Also

good, because it's a research 

instrument, not a webcam.  

For the time being, I can keep using my Aplux webcam with Astro

IIDC, at least.
