Subject: stormy mars comparison image

I've uploaded my most recent image from Friday morning to the files area:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astro_IIDC/files/Planetary/mars1019_1021.jpg

(Apologies if you have seen this image posted elsewhere.)

The image on the left was shot at f29 aligned and stacked using AstroIIDC. The right hand

image was hand selected and stacked in Keith's Image Stacker. The seeing was quite poor

on the 21st with much deformation of the planet's disk and features even in the sharp

frames - so I used four different alignment quadrants for the planet to try and tease the

most detail from the video. The right hand video was shot at f32.

The LRGB composite is built and processed in Adobe Photoshop CS2.

best,

Alan
