exposed to a larger audience.


...I've been thinking of trying to capture the moons myself, after seeing your results (I have 

a C-9.25 with a color Flea camera).   ...but I've got to wait until this rain clears out!  ;o)

Yesterday night I imaged Deimos and Phobos over a period of 40 minutes using the 

DMK 

21BF04 in the prime focus of my C9.25 SCT. Here's a quick GIF animation of the result

Each GIF frame is a stack of about 200 camera frames, each exposed for 133 ms. The 

Mars 

image is inserted for scale comparison. Toward the end of the animation Phobos 

reaches 

its greatest elongation... clouds cut the exercise short, I had hoped to keep going for a 

while...
