Hi Jim;

Try reducing the CCD exposure time. Basically it's much to bright on the central disk and losing any detail that might be there. It would help if I could see a single unprocessed frame too and just send it to me directly. Also if your only getting 10 frames stacked out of 3.5 gigabytes of data, then I would reduce the confidence level (maybe 80%) to increase the number of frames that are included.

Here is a single frame unprocessed Mar image I took on October 22. I  tend to under expose my images and then brighten them after stacking and aligning is completed. When I captured it on my laptop it looks more reddish, but on my G5 DeskTop Mac the image looks greenish. I have calibrated both the laptop LCD and my desktop Mac's analog monitor, but there still appear to be color differences.

Here is the result of stacking done at 58% confidence interval, which is from 415 out of 1464 frames being used.

And here is what I got after sharpening, color balancing and leveling it in the Astro IIDC  alpha version.  Note Astro IIDC 2.02 does not have these capabilities, but you can do them in Keiths Image Stacker (Lapacian sharpening, Histogram adjustment) or with PhotoShop or Adobe Elements.

Hope That helps..

Me again,

I think results are better, but not as good as I think they can be.  Processed nearly 3.5

gigs and only stacked 10 images at 90% confidence, despite what appeared to be

good seeing conditions (clear) to the naked eye!  I'm going to try again tonight.
