Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Pt. Gray cameras, Tim and Milton.


A larger pixel size would be fine for me - I am usually oversampling for the seeing when I use my 10" mak at f45 with the Baader FFC. I am pretty happy with the DMK for planetary imaging. (Unfortunately the well placed subjects will be limited to Saturn for the next few years, and there is not much magic you can apply to Saturn if the seeing is not very good.) I would like to use a larger format chip for the moon and sun and try to maximize speed (60fps) to increase the number of good frames during steady moments and sensitivity to increase the raw quality of the good frames.


It's also been very poor weather here, and when the weather gets bad, a young man's fancy turns to... well, you know - shopping.
