Subject: Re: Camera for guiding and LPI

Hi Dale:

I think Milton may be off on vacation  right now, but I think you should be able to guide

using Astro IIDC and a firewire camera (compatible with Astro IIDC, check milton's list on

his website).  Milton's autoguiding software is geared toward LX200-based mounts.  You'll

have to image with another camera while you're using one for guiding, of course.

I use the Pt Grey Flea color camera.  Alan uses one of the Imaging Source monochrome

cameras, and gets great results with it.

Hi Folks,

I know I asked a similar question here a while back, but I still

haven't purchased a camera. For Christmas I am going to receive an

Orion ED 80 as well as a Meade AR-5 to go a long with the my Meade

SN-6 on a LXD-75 mount. So my question is there a camera that will go

both guiding as well as imaging planets. I am leading towards color

something like <http://www.1394imaging.com/en/products/cameras/

Thanks and a Happy Holiday to all!
