 PC only?  Looks like it.

I quickly check the link.

The 'new' version use a FTDI  (FT232BM) ) chip which has Mac OS X

drivers. Once the driver is installed it shows up in the system as

a regular serial port.

Here is the page for OS X driver for this :

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

(scroll down to Mac OS X, the latest version of the driver is 2.0.1)

Thanks for the information.

Assuming the drivers show up as a POSIX serial driver it should be

fine for PowerPC.

TTYL..

as far as I know that is the case.

Here is an extract from the install doc :

"When the computer has rebooted, plug in the device.  If the device is installed properly, you will

see entries in the /dev directory:

/dev/cu.usbserial-xxxxxxxx

/dev/tty.usbserial-xxxxxxxx

"

you can find the full document here : http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/InstallGuides/Mac_OS_X_Installation_Guide.pdf

This is the same chip as the one the AstroHub is using (http://www.aquest-inc.com/AstroHub/AstroHubHome.htm)

I tried to get access to one of these to do some testing on my mac but the owner want me to pay, do my test and return it within a short period to get a refund if it doesn't work... I was more hoping on having one unit for a few month to do all the test and write some extra software for mac users .. not going to happen unless someone close to my location has one I can borrow
