Here is the final version of the mosaic that I have been working on. It has been processed using the testing version of forthcoming AstroIIDC version 3:

The first two segments of the image (plato and alpine valley) took quite a bit of time - I used 20 or so alignment areas on each to try and coax as much detail as possible from these hallmark features. As I looked at the other 18 streams (seeing was variable between 4 and 6 over the half hour or so in which they were captured) I found that 5 alignment points - one central and four corners - achieved 95% of the result of using 20. So altogether these images took less time to prepare than the original two.


The multiple area stacking routine in the new software is very effective- it really opens up new possibilities on lunar and the solar images.
