I've begun to understand that seeing is everything.

Like having an awesome stereo system with the best speakers money can buy, and they

just won't sound very good if you stick your head in a bucket of water.

If I have any advice (from my limited experience), shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot...

I was getting frustrated back when I first started, shooting Mars. Then I got that one shot! I

was very happy. Then I tried to repeat it... and repeat it... and repeat it.... No go. I am

happy to have gotten that one.

Then looking at Damian Peach's web site ( http://www.damianpeach.com/best.htm ),

wholly smokes. The shots he got from Barbados are incredible. I had no idea we could get

detail on Venus' clouds. Makes me want to go to Barbados. OK, I'd settle for Kitt Peak...

but that's not happening any time soon.

Speaking of other photos, Wes Higgins has a shot in S&T that was shot with a DMK

camera. His name sounds very familiar, is he in this group? If so, nice job Wes. I would

love to get a photo in one of those mags.

Sorry, getting off topic. Thanks Alan. I'll keep trying.

PS. Have you thought about setting up a web page? You should show-case your stuff on

line.

Hi Duane -

That's a good effort! Saturn is the hardest of all the planets to image

- I think more demanding of good seeing conditions than any other. It

just doesn't get very bright either.

I had one amazingly good night for saturn two years ago in Florida. I

over-processed the heck out of the image then (and spent many hours

doing it) - some day I am going to revisit the ToUcam files and do a

better job.

best,

Alan

Here is my humble shot of Saturn at Opposition. I should have shot it

at midnight but didn't

get to imaging until 1:00-2:00.

Brrrrr, was it a cold night.

It's called : Saturn_Duane_01_27_06.jpg

I guess technically it was 1/28/06, but oh well. It's in the files

section.
