Hi Neale;

When your in "2x2" binned mode, the image brightness increases by 400% - so it may very well be over exposed.  So try setting "black point" to minimum, exposure time lower and set exposure time to say 33 ms - at least in doors.

Using both options should give you around 1.5 to 2 magnitudes deeper imaging, however it will also increase noise levels too - so their are no "free lunches".

I normally use a monochrome Unibrain camera with an 80 mm aperture F/4 scope in 2x2 mode and guide off Mag 5th to 7th stars in downTown Calgary (mag 2 to 3 skies visually) with 133 ms exposures.

HTH..

Milton,

Cool! Will try the first idea out for certain. But the second idea doesn't seem to work with

the iBot at least. All I get is plain white "screen" with the sharpness numbers superimposed

at top left.

Cheers,
