Well, I have a lot of cameras which I would like to use on this one

laptop. So what you are saying is that when I buy a new laptop, I'll

have to buy a new license as well?

Yes.

I assume verification of a sale is prohibitive of mounting a license

exchange program.

Yes it is prohibitive. The Mac scientific market is miniscule - especially for Astronomy products and every sale is important. If I use a simple password scheme it will get cracked and will show up on a warez site (and don't say it doesn't happen - I know for a fact it happened to Equinox). And setting up servers, writing network code and then creating client side "challenge & answer" code is not trivial and I'd rather put time and effort into making a better product rather than wasting time on verification procedures.

How do other users go about this?

They buy new licenses.

HTH..
