So is it possible to de-register a given computer? I managed to drop my G4 PowerBook, and 

the insurers have written it off and replaced it with the new machine I'm playing with now.

Funnily enough, the cause of the accident was catching the power cable and pulling the 

PowerBook to the floor. So the new magnetic cables on these MacBooks would have been just 

the thing to avoid that problem!
