Impressive!  A friend of mine had a Quantum 6 many years ago.  I would consider 

it one of the "big boys" as far as optical and mechanical quality is concerned, most 

definitely.


I thought these were very nice images also. A moderate aperture scope is 

somewhat handicapped in lunar imaging (if you compare the results with images 

taken with larger scopes.) The resolution of lunar images (in good seeing of 

course) continues to improve with aperture and the big scopes 18-24" are 

producing astounding results. This relationship between resolution and aperture is 

not linear in the same way with the planets and their lower contrast detail. If you 

have a robust computer, using a larger chip or preparing mosaics is a nice way to 

go with a 6-8" aperture.
