Hi all -

Thought I would share this  weekend project with you.

The daytime seeing - with big spring temperature swings - has been very

difficult for high resolution solar imaging. It was futile to try and

align even two frames to improve S/N - the variation were too great and

detail was hopelessly blurred. But a single solar frame with the DMK

was quite good. I imaged the entire disk with my 90mm filter and 5"

refractor (1000mm FL) and chose one frame from each. I used three light

processing steps in Photoshop and then combined the sixteen frames into

this mosaic.

When the seeing is bad, it is fun to step back a bit for a wide field

view.

best wishes -

Alan
