The daytime seeing - with big spring temperature swings - has been very
difficult for high resolution solar imaging. It was futile to try and
align even two frames to improve S/N - the variation were too great and
detail was hopelessly blurred. But a single solar frame with the DMK
was quite good. I imaged the entire disk with my 90mm filter and 5"
refractor (1000mm FL) and chose one frame from each. I used three light
processing steps in Photoshop and then combined the sixteen frames into
this mosaic.
When the seeing is bad, it is fun to step back a bit for a wide field
view.
