I didn't get to spend a lot of time inside at the exhibits - the solar

star party was big and crowded - I had a two scope solar rig to attend

to. It did occur to me that a representation of The Imaging Source

cameras and Astro IIDC would have been a nice addition. The folks at

Adirondack Video Astronomy had the Lumenera cameras (and a rep from

Lumenera) out on display.

You don't recall the name the Lumenera rep do you? I might know them.

I used to work with the guys who started Lumenera. We left the same Ottawa camera company within the space of about 3 weeks of each other. Back in 1999, I was pushing the company we were with to look at marketing the high speed imaging end of Astronomy (they used CMOS sensors then, not good sensitivity but very cheap to purchase at 1280x1024 sizes), but the VP and others did not see any market for it.

NEAF is an interesting venue to visit - especially if you are in the

market for new equipment. Almost everyone in the industry is there with

their wares.

The Imaging Source guys from North Carolina would not be able to attend as they are no longer with The Imaging Source. TIS have a distributor in the USA, but the main office, support and technical end are in Germany.

And we don't make enough on sales of Astro IIDC to cover the cost of even paying for registration to such an event, let alone air fare or hotels.
