Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] questions about sharpening before/ while stacking and IR pass filter
Hi Eric;
I only have the IR CutOff Filter from Edmund and have never used their RGB filters. I bought a 15 mm x 15 mm square 1.1 mm thick one
http://www.edmundoptics.com/onlinecatalog/displayproduct.cfm?productID=1328&search=1
for $30 USD (they show the transmission curve for it on the page). Then I mounted it in front of the Flea camera on the flat space behind the C-Mount. I should order another one as I wasn't very "kind" to the one I have and it's pretty scratched up. So I had to hunt for a portion of it that isn't marred by me to fit over the CCD.
I have a set of Antares R, G, B Wratten Filters that I use very rarely. I got them mounted in a $70 USD Apogee Inc Manual 3 filter wheel. They eventually came out with a 4 Filter Wheel version of the unit for about $20 more.

Hi Milton,
Sorry I didn't reply sooner here. I don't know the response of the IR filter, but it doesn't seem to be very broad. I too have an RGB set of Edmund filters and I find that they have the highest transmission of any of the RGB filters that I use. Of course, they aren't IR blocked, but the red filter passes both R and IR and has been very useful for me in the past. I think I'll stick with that one and send back this IR pass filter.
