Hi Alan,

I think we've spoken on email before - did you publish a presentation you gave to a live audience on a website?

Apart from the benefits of being able to use OSX the DMK camera will give me faster frame rates without the compression a ToUcam unfortunately does. I was flirting with the idea of buying a Luminera SkyNyx camera but they are a bit pricey and the recommended Streampix software is very pricey (and it's windows and I recent spending good money on Microsoft based software). I want to get the best deal I can on buying the DMK camera (money is a bit tight at the moment) I live in the UK where would be the best place to buy it from?

I'm going to use a G4 Powerbook with it for starters but when funds allow I'm going to buy a used 17" Imac PPC version off eBay as now the Intel chip version is out I should get a bargain. I've got it all planned out but it will take a little while to get the funds - anyway not much happening in my area of interest at the moment so I'll just have to be patient. I will download Astro IIDC when I get my camera (all that key business) and have a play.

I'll try not to ask silly questions by searching the archives before posting, but excuse me if I do ask questions you've all heard before.

Hi everyone,

My name is Ray and I'm a very keen Mac User and also a planetary imager.

A question - apart from acquiring my images from the DMK 21F04 does Astro IIDC offer

 alignment and stacking ...

Yes it does.

Also is there a wavelets

type of system within Astro IIDC?

Yes there are image processing features too - both the stacking and processing components are being addressed in a version update that Milton is working on at present.

Does the group approve of my choice in camera BTW

Not sure if you are looking at the original DMK camera - the 21AF04 has improvements over this model and would be a better choice in my opinion.

best -
