Subject: Quasi off-topic question

My Powerbook G4 had an odd problem develop a week or two ago:

The battery won't charge.  I get the light around the plug when the

power adapter's attached to the computer, but the battery icon shows

it continuing to discharge.

For now, I've been bringing a spare battery home from work and using

that, then bringing the drained one in and charging on my work laptop.

I'll have to look this up, but I can't remember whether the apple

warranty is 90 days or 1 year.  I bought the computer at Macmall last

November, and got a 2 year service contract that kicks in after the

apple warranty is up (I think), but they're  kind of a goofy outfit

and I'd rather not have to go back there if it's still under the apple

warranty.  ...and it's a drive through traffic to get there from my house.
