Tim,

If your Powerbook G4 is an aluminum, you might want to check Apple¹s

website

to see if it is covered by the current battery recall.  If so, you

might get

a new battery for free.

I checked the serial numbers on both my home laptop and my work

laptop, and none of the three batteries I have are subject to the

recall.  They also work and  charge on my work laptop, and will run

the one at home.  The charger also works on my work laptop, and lights

up on the one at home, but doesn't charge the batteries when they're

in my home laptop.

I bought it last November, and I just got a letter in the mail from

Apple about renewing the warranty, so it's covered for this month, at

least.  I'll take it in and have them fix it.

At least there are "no" planets to worry about missing right now...

...although I did experiment with Uranus imaging through the C-8 last

weekend.  Boy, that thing is SMALL!
