I'm once again turning my eyes to a new camera (with Saturn coming around and all, it

may be time).

Is this the DMK camera of choice at the moment?

I just received an e-mail from them saying their prices have dropped, but the price looks

the same as it did  a year ago... did I miss something? Here is their e-mail:

Hi Group,

Thanks to Milton I've just got my new Image Source DMK21AF04 working

and have had a little play using a nice zoom c mount lens I acquired

years ago. Although I thought that things looked complex when reading

the Help.pdf when you actually start playing it's really intuitive.

I've been a long-time user of a Philips ToUcam, K3CCD tools and

Registax and these apps. have a steep learning curve. Cobbled to that

having to contend with bloody Windows as well - "Your Norton's Virus

software has expired" just as you are acquiring and focussing the

target "Lord give me strength".

Some of the features though made me LOL - the camera has some dust

bunnies on it (a bit bad for a new camera) so I had a play with the

Flat Field function! it's LIVE for goodness sake how cool is that..

yes and other features too like the histogram stretch. Also it is so

fast in stacking, Registax takes forever. The processing seems so

much more controllable and wide ranging than Registax. The whole

application is streets ahead of the Windows stuff and all in one

package.

Watch this space I reckon some good stuff is on its way.

Best decision I've made in my hobby for years based on this trial

A very happy Ray Byrne

1:27am and I'm still going to have a further play
