Not for astronomy. I do know that Katsushige Yamashiro uses the big format Scorpions for Microscopy Imaging.


I remember their sales rep saying that the Scorpion has a screw-in IR

block filter, so it could be replaced with an astro IR block filter

with better transmission.  I haven't yet removed the one from my Flea,

but now that it's over a year old and out of warranty, I will likely

do that before the big planets come back around...


I would not do it for Planetary / Lunar imaging unless your expecting to image above 640 nm, which is where the sharp cutoff of their filters happens. For DSO it would be a good idea as the 656nm H-alpha is pretty much "gone" with their IR filters.
