Subject: Re: Camera for guiding

Hi Milton,

I am new to astro imaging am am really keen to use your Mac based Astro 11DC once I get

all the equipment together. The last item is a firewire camera and the Unibrain fire-i

seems to be the only one readilly available in the UK. Alternative suggestions welcomed.

As well as planetary imaging, I would like to use it to guide my Meade RCX 400, and a 80/

600 refractor on a Vixen mount. The Vixen has a Boxdorfer controller, MTS-3SDI, version

3.10b, which responds to the LX200 direction commands(ASCI11 6). (Apparently this

controller works well with The Sky software on a Windows PC.)

(sigurd@boxdoerfer.de  designed this system and is very willing to give technical info). It

is quite widely used in Europe.

Hope this makes sense, but I would welcome any advice.

Regards

Tom Abbott

Photoshop? But I agree -- the Mac needs a Registax, but with a

human interface; using

Registax is a torturous process.

I take that Astro IIDC is no use to anyone for stacking then? I'd

like to know because I'll stop all development of it if no one is

using that aspect of it. I don 't like wasting my time on features if

no one uses them and does not provide any constructive feedback.

Thanks..
