An update about scopetronix.

I got a reply from them today.  They said the adapters were delayed

getting anodized, and that mine will be shipped soon.

At least it's made of aluminum, not plastic!

The plastic adapter from Mogg is fine for lightweight cameras like the

Fleas, of course.  But I also got adapters for mounting my Nikon

lenses on the Flea and the DSI.  With the DSI, which lacks a tripod

screw socket (moronic design omission, IMHO), I have to use an old VW

carburetor gasket between the adapter and the camera, or the tripod

mount hole isn't reachable due to the big square box of the DSI.  And

you have to be careful not to distort or strip those plastic threads

when tightening to the camera or tightening the screw to hold the

assembly from moving during the exposure...   ...another reason I

don't use the DSI much.

Item # STC125 "C Mount for Video Cameras"

I hope my experience with Scopetronix is anomalous, but I ordered one

of these about 3 weeks ago and have gotten no information whatsoever

for why it hasn't shipped.  They apparently contacted the post office

on the 20th of November to notify them it was coming, but there is no

further information on whether it actually shipped.

I've emailed Scopetronix twice in the last week and have gotten no

reply.

I would order the Mogg adapter next time.  When they didn't have the

part in stock last year when I ordered one for the Flea, they sent me

a courtesy email informing me of that fact and telling me when they

expected to make a new batch.  In the end, I only waited a week or

two, and that was coming from Australia.
