That's a great idea.  I hadn't thought of that.  I tried to image the

Horsehead that night as well, but the skyglow was pretty bad after 2

minutes exposure, even when it was near the meridian.  I have at least

one LPR filter, dating back to the late 80's.

I should also have put a contrast booster on the Megrez, as it's

really just a glorified achromat, and ALL the blue stars have

"nebulosity";o).

When I can, I intend to mount my 4.25" f/5 Newt (my "hyperapochromat",

as there is absolutely NO false color! ;oD ) on the 9.25", but the

modified factory wedge can't take the weight.

Well, I looked at the best of my videos from the other night, and

decided my stars are too soft for me to want to embarrass myself by

posting the M36 pic.  One frame came out pretty nice, but it's got

that grainy multicolored sky background that makes me want to hurl my

lunch when I look at it.

You may want look at trying a LPR filter. It can at least knock the

light pollution back some.

I never used it successfully with the MAK 127 because it had so

little light gathering that exposure times became ridiculous.

With the C8 I want to try it again.

Also light pollution also affects the guider too. At a dark site, I

guide off star that are say 1 to 2 magnitudes fainter than I can ever

do in the city.
