Hi Tim,
Thanks for the update on Scopetronix. Sorry about the credit card fraud. We also had our
credit card used fraudulently right before Christmas. Here's what we learned: It's very
possible that when you hand your credit card to a restaurant server to pay a tab that they
can then, while the card is in their posession, get your card number, name and security
code on the back of the card. They then just need a fake email address and, bingo, they're
in!!
We noticed a charge for close to $200 made to our card a couple of days later and had to
close out our card. Pretty sure we know which place of business the breach took place.
Since then, when we received our new cards, I took a black ink Sharpy and blacked out the
security code on the back of the card. It may not be totally secure, but every little bit
helps.
Appreciate the help I've had on this forum from you and the others!
Tom

Really? I just got a 1.25/c-mount adapter from them a couple months
ago. Took a while to get it, too. And, right after that, I had
credit card fraud charges, unrelated to scopetronix, to deal with. I
have no idea whether the incidents are related, though.

The Mogg website has these too. I have one for my original Flea
camera. It's nice, and it's threaded, but it's made of some kind of
black pvc plastic. That's okay for lightweight cameras like we're
using, but the nikon lens adapter I have for the Meade DSI is too
"soft" not to distort a bit with the weight of the lens and camera
hanging on it.

Also, do you know if Scopetronix is still in business? I've emailed
them about an eyepiece I
was interested in a few weeks ago and haven't heard back.
