I assume you mean a hardware change they made, rather than software?

I got my GPUSB a few months ago, and have had no problems with it.

Hi Folks;

Shoestring Astronomy made a change in their latests revision of the

GPUSB ST4 interface box, which follows the HID (Human Interface

Device) specification.

If a developer is not accessing it as a USB HID, this doens't affect

them. However I was following the HID spec so this completely screwed

me up.

The issue is that the previous GPUSB reports itself as having 16 one

bit buttons where as the new one reports itself two 8 bit buttons. I

manipulate the state of the buttons to control the GPUSB.

Astro IIDC 3.0x checks the number of buttons when it access the GPUSB.

When it finds 2 and  was expecting 16, it thenn silently rejected the

GPUSB as being defective so it never shows up in the mount list.

With Raoul Schlesser's patience as guinea pig tester, we sorted it out

over the past 5 days and I have an experimental build of Astro IIDC 3

that works around it. I will be releasing this build in a few weeks

once we have throughly tested it. However if this issue affects you

then let me know, I can seed you with a new release before it's

officially released.

The Astro IIDC 3.0.02 release will also incoporate a few bug fixes too.

Thanks for your patience.
