I fiddled around some more and it seems to be the connection to the

computer.  It's a heavy stiff cable, and there are no threads for the

screws to go into, so when I turn the computer to view the screen from

the telescope, for example, it tends to lose connection, even if the

cable hasn't actually come out.

Seeing is awful tonight, so I think I'll stare at my eyelids before I

try again.  Maybe I'll take some eclipse pictures tomorrow night!

Hi Tim;

That does sounds like a connection problem, but I'm not sure if it's

the cable, the camera connector or perhaps the Mac's FW800 port.

With mine they included two cables, a FW800 to FW800 cable and a

FW800 to FW400 cable. You could try it out using the FW800 to FW400

cable and see if that works or not. If it does work, that likely

rules out the camera being the the problem and it's either the FW800

to FW800 cable OR the FW port on your Mac.

I've been having more trouble than not with the connection to the

Flea2.

It seems like if there's any tension at all on that cable, even if the

screws into the camera are tight, that I can't get Astro IIDC to find

the camera.

I'm starting to wonder whether it's the cable after all, versus the

camera itself?
