If there is a tool in ps to do what you describe I have not found it yet.  I just use the Info window and Color Sampler Tool to monitor the Actual Color RGB  values until they are close to being equal by adjusting each color using Levels or Color Balance.  Apple's Preview program has a simple and effective color balancing adjustment also.


I too would be willing to take a stab at your original RG&B files if you care to post them.
