Subject: First Light with new camera and ASTRO IIDC - question?

With everyone's helpful advice in last few weeks here and elsewhere, I managed to pick up

a camera (Flea2), mount (GM8) and start using ASTRO IIDC.  First, I just have to say that I

am really delighted with the software so far.  It works well, is very nicely laid out, intuitive

and packed with the features I need most.  If some of you might recall, my interest is solar

but as luck would have it - I was only able to view Saturday night and had a go at imaging

Saturn, acquiring movies and stacking frames.  I also have a GPUSB on its way and look

forward to trying it out and interfacing with the GM8.

I've obviously still got a long way to go, having never used a GEM or a webcam to image

before, but in short order I was able to get some great initial results (to me, at any rate). In

fact, I encountered only one "problem" during my shake-down session that I could use

some help with.

The Flea2 uses Format 7 and indeed I can select FMT7 modes under "camera video format"

on the "camera control" .  However, after selecting an FMT7 mode, the "Camera ROI" is not

selectable (i.e., greyed out) in the "camera" drop down menu.  I assume I am missing

something trivial here but a search of this forum and the help manual has not yielded an

answer.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice.
