Hi Doug;

One issue you may run into is with the GPUSB. They changed the

the Beta 3.02 version.

Hi Milton,

Sure enough - my GPUSB was in the mailbox when I got home and after a quick hook-up I

couldn't get it to work just as you anticipated.  When I opened the group page there was

my answer before I even asked the question!  The beta 3.02 version did the trick - thank

you.

No problem.

I noticed that the "Speed" pop up menu is is disabled and this time I found reference to

this in the manual in relation to the GPUSB and ActiveWire USB adapters.

Actually no. The speed pop up is only for people using the LX200 protocol with Meade type scopes via a KeySpan USB to Serial Adapter.

Is this a feature

that may be available in future for GPUSB users?  It isn't much of a big deal with my GM8

because I can just set the slew rate to 16x on the controller box. Just curious...

The GPUSB or ActiveWire are really nothing more than a 4 toggle switches that can be accessed via USB. All they do is turn on or turn off off the guide motors. The only way to regulate the speed for them is with the hand controller in setting the guiding rate.

HTH..
