Subject: Re: Pt Grey Grasshopper?

Hi Tim;

I haven't seen one yet. I'm in the "cue" with other developers to get

one in house for hardware trials, but I have no idea when (if) that

will happen.

The camera I want to work with is the 1384x1036 EXHAD camera, which

will be able to collect about to 2 times / 200% light as the 7.4

micron CCD  Flea/Flea2 camera does. It's the same CCD as uses in the

Starlight Express SXV-H9 and SXV-H9C cameras too.

TTYL..

I see that Pt Grey lists the Grasshopper cameras on their website now.

I may email a request for a price list.

Have they offered to loan you one yet?  ;o)

The 1384x1036 version with 6.45micron pixels looks the most

interesting.  The pixels for the 5Mpixel camera seem awfully small at

3.45 microns.

I like the Flea2 I bought, minus the problem I've had with the

firewire 800 cable, but it's nowhere near as sensitive as the flea

with its 7.4 micron pixels.  I haven't tried binning on planets yet,

though.
