Jim;

Contact me directly so you we can discuss this without cluttering the list up with back and forth traffic. Bug reports should be sent to me directly at support@outcastsoft.com - that is the fastest most reliable way to get help.

I need to know:

0) What version of Astro IIDC this is.

1) Do you have screen shots of what settings your using for both the guider and camera? Without knowing how you had your set up configured, it's pretty much impossible to offer any constructive opinions.

2) Interface used (Serial / GPUSB / Active Wire)?

3) Was PEC correction active or not?

4) Have you disabled or reduce the backlash for the mount? Backlash can cause all sorts of issues with erratic tracking / oscillations and I had issues with it on my HEQ5.

5) Is the trackign issue on the horizontal or the vertical?

When comparing Guiding results, was it on the same night or not, because turbulence causes a lot of issues with oscillations as it's chasing turbulence not correcting tracking errors.

On a side note, don't forget that Mirror flop affects not just the guider, it also affects the main optics too. My C8 has mirror flop and it's pretty easy to see it happening by focussing a star sharply, then slewing 30 degrees up or down to another star and noticing the focus is now out of focus. That's one reason people tend to go with Meade because they can lock the mirror, where as you can't with a Celestron scope unless you modify the cell.

HTH...

Hi all,

I've been trying for weeks now to get my WO GT-1HD mount to autoguide

reliably with my PGR Flea mono camera and AstroIIDC.  Initialy I

thought it was issues with flexure which caused my guiding to oscillate

between overcorrections but I experimented with Craig Stark's PhD

guiding and it worked very well.  I'd rather stick with AstroIIDC so

would welcome any experience using it with the SkySensor2000 system.

Setup:  C9.25 with f6 focal reducer and 90mm Meade Mak as guidescope

(no mirror flop since primary mirror is fixed and focus moves secondary)

Symptom:  errors start to build after a few seconds and there apears to

be lag in corrections, then over corrections and oscillations.
