To do a half arse job would require an Aligned  (i.e mount that has been calibrated with the hand controller on at least 2 stars) GoTo type mounts using a USB Serial adapter so we can read out the precise positional positional of the scope and then making short adjustments to "nudge" it in the direction we hope makes the correction. And we need to move both motors at the same time to correct for one axis of correction too. I doubt if you'd get more than a few arc seconds of accuracy.


So it simply won't work with the precision level that you need to make sub pixel / sub arc second guiding worth while for DSO's and multi minute exposures. For that you need an EQ mount or an EQ wedge.
