Don,

It may depend on how you saved the movie and in what

format.  If it was saved as .mov, then Quick Time

should be working.  I usually save my movies as .mpg

files and have had no trouble with QT running them.

Another thing to try if you haven't and especially if

you're dragging and dropping - open QT first.  Then

try to open the movie from the QT File menu.

One further idea.  Are you using the latest version of

QT?  If not, check Apple Support at

www.apple.com/quicktime

And one final one - it's unlikely, but possible, that

your QT application may have been corrupted or the

preferences file damaged.  So, downloading and

installing a new QT app might help.

I don't know what version of Mac OS you're using, and

that would make a difference if you're in Classic

rather than in OSX, or vice-versa.

I'm no expert at this, so these are just suggestions

from a long-time, mostly self-taught Mac user.

Was playing with the software before we get some

clear nights (nearly

3 weeks straight of clouds), and saved a movie, only

to have Quicktime

tell me that I need another component to play it and

took me to an

Apple web site with different Codecs on it

(e.g.Divx, Autodesk, etc)?

So, if Quicktime won't play back the .mov, what

will? Is there a

Quicktime setting, or some Codec I need?

Thanks,
