Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Re: Manually Selecting Points for Stacking

Hi Rich;

It's not Auto MAP (Multiple Alignment Points), each Tif is aligned using the single alignment area you selected and exported out. So it is a one to one relationship.

MAP frankly doesn't work reliably (some say it doesn't work at all), as you get significant "edge issues" when auto blending the adjacent areas. This is especially noticeable when you have large images and boiling turbulence. There are many posts about this issue on various PC stacking sites too.

And I have experimented with it and frankly, it just doesn't' work.

Hope That Helps.

Hi Milton,

I was wondering the same, when I did my processing and got the same

results. This is a multi-point alignment isn't it? I mean this

doesn't imply that each tiff file is a stack of single point

alignments does it?

Thanks,
