Hi Kirk;


You need to set the Saturation Slider to between 28 to 32 (usually 30) and leave it there. The Saturation control will bias the colors and will result in the grid pattern your seeing.


This is described on pages 53 and 62 of the Astro IIDC manual.


Also , I'm hoping your using an IR blocking filter too as it is tough to get good color balance for bright targets (i.e. Mars, Jupiter, the moon etc.) without it.
