Subject: Mars again

It was clear last night for about the second time this month in Toronto due to a cold front

sweeping in with heavy gusts and turbulence.   I'm still after my Mars shot of this opposition

so out I went.   I'm not satisfied with this shot but it looks a lot more presentable after I hand

selected the best images to stack within AstroIIDC.  Many of the images selected by the

software were not round but stretched as the wind buffeted the Tak OTA and stacking these

clearly diminished the detail.  Despite the poor results I think that my collimation is getting

closer and closer especially after I managed to recenter the secondary mirror after it was

displaced during shipping.  I can make out individual tendrils on the darker areas of the

surface.

I just need that one good night of seeing.  I'm easily as grumpy as Alan about the weather!
