With out knowing what options you used for stacking, it's pretty hard

to comment. But if you select some pixel area that drifts outside the

field of view and use a very low tolerance matching, then it will

match on all sorts of stuff it should not be.


For Lunar / Solar imaging you basically must have good tracking if you

want good alignment and stacking. For planetary it's less an issue

because it's pretty easy to track a bright singular object, but not

for lunar / solar where you have craters drifting in and out of the FOV.
