Subject: Re: About serial to usb adapter
I just wanted to post what I found out in case others were curious.
What I have is an AirLink 101 Serial to USB adapter (#AC-USBS). The OS
X driver that I downloaded from their website didn't work. However, I
found an open source, universal driver at SourceForge.net that does work.
I'm using Mac OS X (10.4.11) on an Auto Star with version 43Eg installed.

LOL. I certainly understand that last part.
Thank you, Milton, for the quick response. I have a different brand
adapter buried in a drawer somewhere and was curious if it was worth
tearing my office apart to find the thing. I think I'll do that and
give it a shot.
Thank you, again!

I understand that Astro IIDC works with the Keyspand brand of Serial

work or
if it's a known fact that they won't.
I only have KeySpan here for testing, so I have never tried anything
else. Other products may or may not work and it will depend on what
OS X version too.
Several of Serial adapters died or were resurrected when Panther /
Tiger / Leopard was released because Apple changes the underlying
guts without testing or telling any developers what they are doing.
HTH..
