Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Camera?

Hi Kevin, Not that I`d call myself an expert but DFK and DBK Imaging source cameras (one of the latter is what I have) provide direct colour images. As Alan says if you`re prepared to spend the extra time and can afford Photoshop the DMKs are somewhat higher resolution jobs. Some of my moon images are in the Photos section of the Astro IIDC Yahoo site under "Finally the Moon" for example. Yours Mark Gaffney.

Hello All,

I'm looking to buy a camera to go with the following set-up:

Meade LXD75 SN8 AT

MacBook Pro

IIDC

Milton and the web mention The Imaging Sources "DMK 21AF04 / DFK

21AF04" or Point Grey Research's Research "FireFly MV"

Would be interested in color shots, the $350 price tag for the IS

cameras is about what I would like to spend.

There seem to be a number of trade-offs involved, so I'm looking for

expert opinions !

Thanks,

Kevin
