Hi Perry, I went through the ropes of ordering a Unibrain camera ( without actually ordering it!- I have a big expense for fixing my firewire port/logic board coming up) & though it was ostensibly $100 USD, with postage and currency differences (I think an Australian dollar is around 94 cents American presently) it`s more like $160 AUD! I`m going for the 1 & 1/4 version because all my eyepieces, camera setup is that format. You may be right  that I can get the guider for cheaper from Lumicon themselves but probably not much. I`ll have to look into it when the time comes. I like to keep up a rapport with the local shops as well and this guy`s been very helpful! Mark.

Hi Mark,

I've just purchased a used Lumicon Easy Guider to be used with my two

refractors.  This is the 2" model.  The one in your URL for the Aussie

dealer is the 1.25" one.

The AstroMarter I got mine from recommended the 2" over the 1.25".  He

said he had tried the 1.25", which worked OK, but someone suggested to

get the 2" model.  He did and was much more satisfied with it.

He's now moved upscale with SBIG (I think?) equipment.

I note on Lumicon's website that the price of the 1.25" and the 2" EGs

is the same, $199 US.  The one you're looking at is $299 AU.  (Aren't

the USD and the AUD about par?)

Hummmmmmm...  Big shipping charge from the US to the continent down

under, huh??!!

Anyway, better skies and good shopping.

Perry

Thanks Milton for detailing that. Above is the Guider I`m looking at.

I`ll let you know how I go when I can finally afford it ( 2 or more

months!) Mark.
