Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] "Start Track Objects...."

Say I`m photographing NGC 2516 for instance which according to Equinox 6 has a Declination of; -60 degrees, 52 minutes & 1.2 seconds won`t the Easy guider`s second camera be positioned diametrically opposite this (180 degrees distant)?

The Enter Declination: field refers to the object's (i.e. the star, a Planet etc.) declination (see page 74 of the Astro IIDC manual for more details).

For example, Arcturus has a declination of +19 degrees, Regulus has a declination of +11 degrees, Sirius has a declination of -16° etc etc.

Hi Milton, One question occurred to me before having my Auto-guiding set-up in place.

Where you have "Start Track Objects" in the manual & the "Enter Declination" window, how is

the approximate declination to be estimated? Presumably with my Easy Guider the location

will be 180 degrees different to object being photographed as you said. Does this mean I

should add 180 degrees or subtract it from this position depending upon circumstances?

Mark.
