Hi Milton, What`s the method for the "bulb" setting on TIS cameras
You`re speaking about?
There isn't a bulb method. They directly support exposure of up to 3,600 seconds / 60 minutes. Practically speaking, an uncooled 8 bit camera like the TIS will not do very well with more than say 5 to 10 minute exposures anyhow.
Would the GPIO device on Flea cameras work through a serial to usb device?
No it could replace the need of using a USB to serial port device like Keyspan. I'd have to check the pin out and voltages, but you could probably replace the need for a GPUSB with it too.
Is this what you`re speaking about when you say "emulate a serial port"? Mark.
Yes, just like KeySpan USB to Serial port emulates a serial port on the computer end. This would be a FireWire to serial port emulator. I've done with other FireWire devices too, like PixeLink's Analog / Digital FireWire converter box when I worked for them.
HTH..
